Helping Hands On The Way Senior Relocation Specialists

Your senior transition

When Anne Helander’s 80 year old widowed father-in-law no longer wanted to live alone, he simply wanted to walk away from a large house and all the things in it his wife and he had taken over 50 years to collect. His two daughters lived in far off states and his son, married to Anne, was already overextended, helping to attend to his father’s various health and other personal needs. Something had to be done.

Anne devoted more than a few hundred hours in organizing, sorting, and eventually coordinating her father-in-law’s entire move to a beautiful, brand new 2-bedroom home within a nearby retirement community. She was also very involved in the process of emptying out the old house, working with the estate sales team, the contractor and home design specialist Susan Heymann to prep the property for resale, finding the appropriate realtor, and finally, cleaning out and hauling away to various places the odds and ends/debris.

With more than 25 years in advertising media/marketing sales, Anne realized her background in communications, including listening, organizing, extensive detailing and follow through made sense for helping seniors in transitioning.

Susan Bacharz Guenther does all the “heavy lifting” for her never married 79 yr. old Aunt Loretta with severe health issues, still living alone at home. Her Aunt knows she needs to relocate soon where she can receive a more comprehensive level of daily care.

Susan has a Master of Arts Degree in Counseling and is a Licensed Professional Counselor, working with families in transition, life stages, as well as the aging process and the difficulties associated.

Cathy Martin had never heard of Lewy Body Disease when she finally learned her brother John’s diagnosis a few years ago. He had been a brilliant Catholic priest, so the combination of Parkinson’s & Dementia seemed particularly cruel for this man only in his late 60s. Cathy would go on to relocate her brother between four communities in less than four years, as this disease rapidly progressed.

With more than 20 years in the Human Resources field, Cathy also is an active volunteer, serving on the Guild of a local nursing home in her community.

After Susan Heymann’s mother died, her 80 year old father, Phil, decided to stay in their large, beautiful home. This “aging in place” requires plenty of support from the entire family so your senior loved one can truly function and maintain independent living.

Susan is an interior design specialist and artist, working many years with builders, upscale furnishings, and other designers. Susan’s impeccable eye and unerring ability to connect with a client’s sense of self makes her an invaluable member of our team.
